Drop
Drag a file toward your configured SOBA edge — right, left, top, or bottom — and place it on the shelf temporarily.
Later
Use Later to bring an item or piece of context back tonight, tomorrow, this weekend, or at another time.
Pin
Pin keeps screenshots, images, or other references visible above your work.
Share
Use Share to send selected files, URLs, or text to a trusted destination.
Smart Actions
SOBA changes available actions based on the item type, including images, PDFs, folders, URLs, JSON, timestamps, and commands.
Permissions
If a feature isn't working, check macOS System Settings for the permission related to that feature.
Installation
For the direct version, open the SOBA DMG, move SOBA into Applications, then launch it from Applications.
Keyboard navigation
Use the arrow keys to move through shelf items, Quick Capture results, and Actions. Press Enter to open or run the selected default action.
Undo
When you clear or remove a reversible SOBA item, use the temporary Undo action if you change your mind.
iCloud sync
Optional iCloud sync can keep supported preferences and pins aligned across Macs signed in to your Apple account.
Focus Mode
SOBA can stay quiet during an active Focus by suppressing resurfacing cards and click sounds.
Shelf search
Use fuzzy search to find shelf items even when you remember only part of a filename or phrase.
First-run tour
The onboarding tour introduces SOBA's core intentions, Quick Capture, screen-edge activation, and Smart Actions. You can revisit Help if you need a refresher.
QR codes
Paste or capture text or a URL, then choose Create QR Code. Scan it with any phone Camera app. The phone does not need SOBA installed.
